Will woke with terrible headache and opening his eyes proved to be a huge mistake. The sun was way too bright, he wondered if the sun had always been this bright. He sat up a bit too quickly which made him feel a bit nauseous. He rested his head on his knees, trying to hid his eyes from the sun for a couple minuets. He hoped the headache might go away too but that didn't seem likely. He groaned and looked around, it was just him and Clyde, who was still sleeping on the ground. All the others seemed to have left, which made him think the sun might been up for a while now. “Oh shit.” He muttered, if his parents were already awake sneaking back into his room was going to be a lot more difficult.
Last night had been his eighteenth birthday and Clyde had thrown a party way out here in the forest near a lake. It hadn't been too hard to sneak out and get here, but sneaking out had never really been a problem for them, it was sneaking back in without being caught that was the hard part. Will didn't really know most of the semi-humans or were's Clyde had invited but it had been a good time. Clyde had been working on his own fermentation system and brewery in nearby cave. Clyde had made his wine and beer and brought several small barrels of the stuff to the party. Will had never drank before and at first he thought it tasted kind of funny but he didn't want to look like an idiot. Plus Clyde was so excited about it so Will kept on drinking the stuff, and after a while he could barely taste anything. Clearly though last nights fun had a price and he was going to pay for it today. The party was worth it though, it was awesome to hang out with a bunch of people who had no idea what he was, who thought he was just like them.
“Hey Willie.” Clyde shouted into his friends ear. “How's your head feeling?” He shouted with a grin. Will had quite a bit to drink last night, and seeing as how it was his friends first time drinking, Clyde was pretty sure Will had his first very own hangover.
“Wonderful.” Will muttered as he stood up and stretched out his arms. “We should head home before my parents wake up or they are going to be pissed.” He said chuckling a bit, it wasn't like trouble was a new thing for him.
“Fine by me, dude, your mom is hot when she's angry.” Clyde said as they started walking back home.
“Yeah well we'll see how you like it when I tell them how it was all your idea.” Will said rolling his eyes.
“Yeah I guess I've been pretty bad, your mom might have to give me a spanking.” Clyde said laughing.
“Dude you are seriously sick.” Will said giving Clyde a shove into a tree. “Ow.” He said laughing so hard he could barely stand. “You done yet?” Will asked only slightly annoyed. Clyde nodded and caught back up to Will and punching him in the arm.
“Hey how'd things go with that girl with the tail? Finally fix that condition of yours bro? Get your v card swiped yet?” Clyde asked and Will only shook his head in response. “What happened, she seemed totally into you.”
“She threw up on my shirt and then passed out.” Will said shrugging, then wondering what he'd done with the shirt. Not that he really wanted anymore now. What he really wanted was a shower, he smelled like vomit and alcohol.“It was all very romantic.” He said sarcastically. Clyde found the story hilarious.
“No worries bro, we'll get you some trim next time.” Clyde offered.
“Ha, only if we live that long.” Will replied as they got to the house. He knew as soon as he saw the house that sneaking back in without being noticed was not going to be an option.
“Well your parents can't kill you right? I mean without you, Chosen boy, who will save us from Night Killer and her insane were-killers?” Clyde asked, obviously sarcastic. Personally he thought the whole prophecy thing was ridicules.
“Right, I am the chosen one, I mean who better to fight some crazy badass mafia army of super-weres than me.” Will said rolling his eyes, like he'd even survive a fight with one were let alone stop a whole army of them. “Since I'm so important and all you better start showing me some respect.” Will teased as the stood outside the house trying to figure out what to do.
“What if we just walk on in and if they ask just tell your parents we went for run, you know like training.” Clyde said shrugging.
“You think they'd by that?” Will asked, he doubted they'd believe he would wake up early for voluntary training.
“Only one way to find out.” Clyde said as he opened the door and headed inside. “Besides, I am starving.” He added as Will followed him inside the house. Clyde immediately looked around for something to eat.
