Slightly before World War II, the first superhumans emerged, as myth and magic were rediscovered, aliens descended from the heavens, lost civilizations made themselves known, science empowered random people by accident, technology advanced to the point of science-fiction, human genetics rapidly mutated, and "mere mortals" proved themselves anything but that. Superhumans and Ubermensch waged war with one another, but eventually the Allies won, and it seemed that superheroes were out of the job... the police dealt with crime, there was no true war, and much of the world had been discovered. So the next generation of supermen disguised their true abilities and took on the roles of the most influential people on Earth... actors, politicians, musicians, authors, religious leaders, generals, scientists, artists, doctors, etc. Behind the scenes, the children of the great team of heroes who fought in WWII manipulated human society and culture. That all changed when their children reached the proper age, however... and manifested strange new powers their parents and grandparents were unable to disguise in time. The secret of the superheroes was out, and the desperate second generation decided to make their more powerful offspring seem innocuous and human... they decided to put them on Reality TV, forcing them to live together in a high-tech, fashionable "fortress of solitude" known as the PowerHouse, and the third generation, referred to as "Legacies" would have to work together to fight crime, do good deeds, and generally be cliche'. However, unknown to any of the factions and legacies (not to mention the general public), at least one of the legacies secretly was a mole and would-be supervillain, rather than a heroic soul, and that person plots to betray and destroy them all. Will the next generation of supermen be able to reclaim their grandparents' roles as heroes, will they fall to their parents' Machiavellian way of life, will they form a new role for themselves and the new generation, or will they be crushed under the heel of a diabolical plot?
The Legacies:
Markswoman: A "mere mortal" with a prodigious talent for archery, an array of trick arrows, incredible agility, and the ability to never miss when firing, she also has a new talent... telekinesis, allowing her arrows to fly around corners and lifting her into the air to fly after them. She is the granddaughter of the heroine Quiver.
Prestige: A "magic" hero, he has mystic senses that allow him to notice supernatural effects in the world around him, the ability to teleport and summon (or banish) creatures and objects, and some impressive illusions. His "new talent" is animation: allowing him to bring objects to life and command them to serve him. He is the grandson of Myrridin the Magician, a powerful English sorcerer.
Hotfoot: A "science" hero who gained her powers by accidental exposure to a strange chemical, she is superfast, incredibly agile, able to perform speedster tricks (running on water, up the sides of buildings, too fast to be seen, punching several people in an instant, running around to make a whirlwind, etc) as well as a new talent: pyrokinesis, along with the power to rocket through the air, trailing flames. Her grandmother was known as Rapidity.
Leviathan: A "mutant" Atlantean, he can breathe underwater, swim at incredible speeds, communicate with sealife (including other swimmers, though not with anyone out of the water) via telepathy, and immunity to the cold and pressure of the depths. He has also developed the new talent of hydromorphing, allowing him to assume four different forms based on the phases of water: ice, water, steam, and plasma, granting him blasts and mobility in each, as well as making him difficult to harm). His grandmother was Queen Marina of Atlantis
Nightfall: A "mere mortal", he is incredibly agile, a martial artist, a master of all the detective's powers of perception, as well as an expert at stealth, gliding (using his cape), and a variety of gadgets. Unlike his grandfather, the legendary MidKnight, he also has an overtly supernatural power, honed through his training in the martial arts and ki: the ability to negate the superpowers, magic and technology of others.
Shining Armor: Inheriting his grandfather's alien tech ring of White Light, Shining Armor can fly, control gravity, create objects from solid light, and generate force fields. However, he also has another power: 7 Light Clones of himself, one for each color of the spectrum. None of his powers can affect any black objects. He is the grandson of the original Shining Armor.
Haru the Distant: A divine warrior of ancient Egypt, this reincarnated version of the god Horus has immense golden-metallic feathered wings sprouting from his shoulders which he can use to slice through objects or launch knifelike feathers, telescopic vision, and metallic gauntlets. He also has an ability to project a spirit blast shaped like his Ba: an energy bird with his head on its shoulders, and he has one other ability (ask me if you decide to play him). He is the grandson of the reincarnation of Osiris who was prevalent during WWII.
Olympiad: The champion amazon princess, she is also a child of Zeus, and has been given a tool or power from one of every Greek God or Goddess (except Hera, who hates all of Zeus' illegitimate offspring), including Hades' Invisibility Helmet, Zeus' Lightning, Hermes' winged sandals, Athena's petrifying Aegis shield, Aphrodite's girdle of beauty, Poseidon's Trident, a bow and arrows from Apollo and Artemis, Hephaestus' robotic servants, Ares' strength and training, the ability to control plants from Demeter and Dionysus, and from Hestia, immunity to fire and the ability to heal when immersed in flames. She is the granddaughter of Penthesilea, the last queen of the Amazons to leave their hidden lands.
Uber: Descended from Ubermensch, the alien who crashed into German farmlands during WWII and appeared as the perfect human, only to switch sides and fight against the Nazis, Uber is superstrong, largely invulnerable, able to fly at incredible speeds, with eye beams, super-hearing, x-ray vision, and a sonic scream, he is, unlike his parents and grandfather, a genius inventor, able to defy the laws of science with his inventions (and he largely built the PowerHouse). His relatively straightforward, hit-em-til-they-stop-moving family doesn't know what to do with him.
Anybody: The grandchild of alien exiles, she has telepathy and mind control, the ability to phase through solid matter, flight, the ability to elongate herself and the power to morph into any person or creature she can see or imagine. She also has a strange new power that lets her phase into the bodies of others and "possess" them. She is the grandchild of the alien known as Everybody.
Arachkid: Created by exposure to radioactive spider bites, Arachkid is the granddaughter of Arachne. She has the proportional strength, agility, climbing and danger senses of a spider, as well as extra arms and web spinning powers, but she can also sprout scorpion pincer claws and a stinger tail.
