Warning this RPG shall be filled with all the cheese of an 80's movie, tons of drama, epic battles, intense action, tortured romance and of course magic.
Camelot was one a great kingdom, ruled by the great King Arthur and protected by his sword Excalibur. But all great things eventually end and I'm sure you've all heard the tales of how it ended. The kings wife had an affair with his most trusted friend, war erupted and a new King was left standing in the end. The new king, Gareth, is cold and brutal ruler, his taxes are unbearable, his punishments are harsh for even the smallest of crimes, and his rule has become so horrible that magic is beginning to fade away from the kingdom. Gareth is a man that despise any wonder in the world and his dark knights have declared a war on anything non-humans, they have slaughtered herds of unicorns, slain dragons and poisoned the fey and then there are crimes too horrible to speak of. Those that are left have banded together, in secret of course, to over through the terrible tyrant and bring back the former king.
Too bad the last thing Arthur wants is to be king again, let alone be around the leaders of this secret rebellion. Lady Guinevere and Sir Lancelot. The Lady, his former wife, and the Knight, her lover, who was once his closest friend and most trusted knight, their betrayal had hurt him more than any wounds suffered in the Great War. When the kingdom discovered there affair they cried for blood, but Arthur spared them, and lost the favor of the people, making it possible for Gareth to seize control. Arthur has been betrayed by those he trusted most, he has lost his kingdom, his sword Excalibur, and worst of all, he has lost himself. Becoming a bitter, cynical hermit living as far from the castle in the Forest of Dangerous Things.
Lancelot and Guinevere have sent letters carried by the swiftest ravens but none have been answered, and while they know it is cruel to ask him to fight by their side once more the fate of the kingdom and of the magic in this world depends on it. So in addition to trying to find warriors for their cause they must set out on a quest, with as many brave souls as they can find, to find Arthur and put him pack on the throne of Camelot.
So this is basically set in medieval times, but with a more modern view on social issues and not so heavily influenced by religion. So in this Camelot men or women can be knights but only if they have noble blood so peasants still can't be knights. The religion is polytheistic, and I'd like to use the Roman gods for this since most people are familiar with them and I'm to lazy to go about making up my own gods. There aren't many non human creatures inside the city since the rule of Gareth, most have retreated to the forests. To the north of the city is The Forest of Dangerous Things, and basically this is where things that are considered very dangerous, like Titans, orges, dragons ect. are trapped in the Forest by magic. Just ask if you've got a question I know it's kind of quickly thrown together but I thought it might be fun to do something that has like a campy Syfy channel feel to it.
Bio Format, tried to make it something quick so I can start this soon.

Name: King Gareth Nickname: Your Highness, Sir, My King, any of these are acceptable but if you atempt to give the king some sort of nickname he will probably chop of your head. Though behind his back many call him the Dark King, Slayer of Beasts, and that arrogant pompous bastard. Appearance: Age: 48 Race: Human Allegiance: Himself, King Gareth Occupation: King of Camelot Weapon: He's a skilled swordsmen and currently wields Excalibur. Strengths: He's good with a sword and a fierce opponent on any battlefield, he has a powerful army to back him and he's good at manipulating people. Weaknesses: He's spoiled and has no control over his temper making him prone to acting impulsively, he's not well liked by the people or anyone really, and he's paranoid and psychotic, never a good combo. Goals: To stay king, get rid of all those who could end his rule especially non-humans, and to finally kill Arthur. Fears: Death, that others are conspiring against him and magic. Short Bio: Gareth was born to a wealthy noble family, spoiled by his parents. His family had been inbreeding for quite some time, preferring to stick with there own over strangers, which probably explains his lack of mental stability. He was a young knight serving Uther and later sat at the round table with King Arthur. Long story short he and Sir Walter found out about Lance and Gwen 's affair and hatched a plan to get rid of Arthur and bring things back to the way things used to be. Just after he slid excaliber into Merlin's gut the old wizard form told him a great power from forest would do the same to him. Because of Merlin’s last prophecy Gareth fears all non-humans and wants them killd, and the forest burnt to ashes.

Name: Cleopatra St. RavenNickname: CleoAppearance: Chimera Form: Griffin Form: Age: Ancient. True age will be revealed later.Race: Griffin/Chimera hybridAllegiance: Cleo has a strong loyalty to King Arthur, and would more than happily fight on his side. She has a hatred of Lady Guinevere and Sir Lancelot for what they did to him, but when she puts that aside to join them on their quest to find King Arthur, she extends her loyalty for King Arthur to them(at least until they actually find him), since she knows they're her best chance to find him and try to convince him to take back the throne.Occupation: Once upon a time, Cleo was a knight for King Arthur. She was proud of her position as a Knight and took it extremely seriously. However when King Arthur left the throne, Cleo gave up her prized Knight position, and took refuge in The Forest Of Dangerous Things from King Gareth, whom she hates with a passion.Weapon: Strengths: Cleo is a very good fighter in both hand to hand, or with weapons, and she has excellent aim with her bow and arrows. She can shift into her two other forms in a blink of an eye, and use them to give her an advantage. She also has one power that she has her Chimera side to thank for; she can create and control fire in her human form, and breath fire in her Chimera form. Weaknesses: While Cleo has a nice little fire power, she can not use it in her Griffin form, Also Cleo is her most vulnerable while in Griffin form, she can fly and in the air she's a hard target to hit. But someone with good aim could probably hit her. The only defense she has if she has to fight in that form is her claws, but even then her aim isn't that good. Another weakness is that Cleo tends to put other people before herself. Meaning that she'll always save someone else before herself, and this often gets Cleo in trouble or hurt. She also tends to be reckless, usually jumping into a fight head first and asking questions later. And finally, and perhaps Cleo's biggest weakness of all, is that she's deathly allergic to peanuts. It's an unusual thing to think about, that a Griffin/Chimera hybrid would have an allergy common to humans, but it's a serious matter for her. Coming into contact with peanuts can cause her to break out in hives, and swelling. If she accidentally ingests anything with peanuts in it, she suffers with severe abdominal pain, her throat begins to swell, and if she doesn't get some sort of a cure, it could lead into anaphylactic shock.Goals: Cleo's top two main goals are to find King Arthur, and convince him to take back the throne. And to kill King Gareth for all of the horrible things he's done since getting a hold of the throne. Her third goal, is a personal one and dates back to when Cleo was a young girl. Her parents were murdered when Cleo was only 13, and she's been searching for their killer ever since. While this goal is very important to her, Cleo puts it on the back burner because it's more important for Camelot that King Arthur return to the throne, and to make sure that King Gareth can't hurt anyone else.Fears: Cleo's biggest fear, is losing someone she cares about. Which is both why she tries to keep most people at arm's length, and is always willing to put someone else before herself. Her next biggest fear, is water. She can't swim, and once she's under water, she freezes too much to be able to shift into her Griffin form and fly out of it. She's also afraid of having an allergic reaction happen and does everything she can to avoid it. A smaller, but still nonetheless a fear, is what is going to become of Camelot if King Gareth continues to rule.Short Bio: Cleo hails from a long line of nobles and Knights. From a young age, Cleo was taught by her parents how to fight, and how important it was to continue the tradition of serving the King. She practiced everyday, and trained hard until she became the best fighter she could be. And then would train harder to try to get even better. Cleo's mother was a Chimera, and her father was a Griffin, both were highly respected Knights. She was close to both of her parents, and looked up to them. One night when she was 13, she had been outside the city limits, practicing with a few fellow kids of Knights and didn't come home until well after dark. When she got home, she came across the gruesome discovery that her parents had been murdered. The person that had killed her parents was still in the house, and attacked Cleo, leaving her for dead with a slit throat and bad head wound. Cleo, obviously, survived, but just barely. She doesn't remember much about that night. She clearly remembers finding her parents dead, but the memory of her fight with their killer is very faint, she's never been able to remember their face, and the only thing she can remember that she hopes will one day help her find the killer, is that they had an odd shaped scar on their right forearm, almost in the shape of a zigzag mark. After her parents died, Cleo became fully engulfed in training to become a Knight, and closed herself from her friends and anyone that tried to get close to her. Cleo still has her walls up, but she's never been able to fully close people out like she would have liked.Other: Cleo has a pet familiar named Malaki that she's had for as long as she can remember. Malaki doesn't age, and has fast healing powers. Malaki is a also able to shift into either a black tabby cat, or a raven. And, of course, Malaki is always with Cleo.Malaki:

I can do a bio for her, if you want. Anything special you want me to put in her bio? Yay thank you To show my gratatude Numfar will do the dance of joy. "Numfar do the dance of joy!" Anyway basically her marriage to Arthur was an arranged marriage he wasn't around to much and she ended up falling for Lancelot and there affair led to the kingdom's current state so they want to fix things, get rid of Gareth and put Arthur back on the thrown and save both the human and magical beings that call Camelot home. Also seeing as how she's helping lead a rebel army she should probably be a bit of a badass but it's all really up to you.

Name: Lady GuinevereNickname: Gwen, or EveAppearance: Age: 30Race: HumanAllegiance: Her main allegiance is with Lancelot, of course. And as odd as it is, considering her betrayal to him once before, Lady Guinevere's allegiance in the event of a war between King Arthur and King Gareth, still and always will reside with King Arthur.Occupation: Lady Guinevere was once the wife to King Arthur, so she took care of anything that had to be done when King Arthur wasn't around to handle it. Now, however, she is helping Lancelot led a rebel army to help get Arthur back on the throne and King Gareth off it.Weapon: Strengths: Guinevere is an excellent swordswoman, and can easily hold her own in a fight, whether her opponent is male or female. It may surprise some, but Guinevere is a very good fighter and is more than capable of kicking the butt of anyone that she needs to. This is a little known fact, because she was always careful to practice in secret, and the only people that know she's a good fighter is Lancelot, and anyone that has actually fought with her. She's a very good liar, and only those that know her really well are able to tell when she's lying. Another strength she has is that while she's a good liar herself, she can usually judge other people and be able to tell when someone is lying to her. Even something as simple as changing one word in a story can catch her attention and make her suspicious.Weaknesses: While Guinevere is good with a sword, she's not so good with her long distance aim. In a fight, Guinevere has no problem landing a blow on her opponent, but if you gave her a bow and arrow, you may want to get out of the way because she's horrible with those and the arrow could go anywhere. And, Guinevere's biggest weakness of all, is Lancelot. Because she would do anything for him, and can sometimes get distracted in a fight if she thinks he might be on the losing end of his own fight.Goals: Guinevere's goals are to fix the damage she's done. Her first goal is to find King Arthur. Her second goal is to convince Arthur to take the throne back, no matter how guilty she feels about asking that of him. Her third goal, is to get King Gareth off the throne and out of power once and for all. And finally, her fourth goal is that once the damage has been fixed, and Camelot is back in the hands of King Arthur, is to escape it all with Lancelot, just get away from everything for a little bit without having everything hanging over their heads and get to spend a little time alone together.Fears: Guinevere's biggest fear is losing Lancelot. This is the one and only thing that she feels she would never be able to handle. Her second fear is being unable to fix the damage she caused, both to Camelot and King Arthur. She hopes that if she can get Arthur back on the throne, that everything will be right again, Camelot will be safe from King Gareth's reign, and it will return to King Arthur to the man he use to be. But she's terrified that the damage is too bad and will never be able to be fixed. And her third fear is that when and if her and Lancelot manage to find King Arthur, that he will regret his decision to spare them for their betrayal and want to reverse it if he takes the throne back.Short Bio: Lady Guinevere hails from a family of rich and well respected nobles. She was promised to King Arthur in an arranged marriage when she was only a baby, and was forced to follow through with it when she came of age. Despite the fact that Guinevere was not happy to be forced to marry a man that she didn't know, much less love, she decided that she would try to adjust to it, and do her best to make things work. She had hoped that maybe over the years, she could learn to love Arthur, and be content enough with their marriage. However, that was not to be. During her marriage to Arthur, he was barely around. It's hard to try to form any kind of a relationship with someone who isn't there. Days, weeks, sometimes months would go by without a word from him. At first, she tried to adjust to this, and resign to the fact that she was simply a wife in name only, and probably more an annoyance to Arthur than anything. Over the years, Guinevere began to fell more lonely and more withdrawn than the year before. During the days, Guinevere wold hide her depression well. She preformed her duties and always appeared to be confident, proud and reliable for the people of Camelot. However, during those long nights when she was alone, Guinevere would let her walls down and would spend many nights in her bed chambers crying herself to sleep because she was so miserable and unhappy with her life, and couldn't see any way out of it.
Guinevere had known Lancelot for awhile, since he was Arthur's closest friend and most trusted knight. But, it wasn't until Guinevere had hit the darkest point in her life that she'd ever been in, when their relationship began to change. It's not something Guinevere is proud of, but she had reached such a dark period, that she was beginning to consider the only way out she could see. The day that things changed between her and Lancelot, was the day that she tried to talk to Arthur about how unhappy she was, the first and only time Guinevere tried to do so, but she had felt that Arthur was too distract to really notice, whether or not this was the truth, it was how Guinevere felt. But, as it turned out, when Guinevere needed someone the most, it was Lancelot that was there for her. That was when the affair began, and Guinevere began to fall for Lancelot. While Guinevere wishes things had been different, she would never say that she regrets it, because regretting it would mean that she regretted her relationship with Lancelot, which would be a total lie. Since she considers her relationship with Lancelot to be the best thing that's ever happened to her, and Lancelot to be the most important in her life.
Guinevere is a very strong, independent, and stubborn woman, but she has horrible guilt over what she's caused, so much so that it feels suffocating at times. She hated to hurt Arthur the way she did with her betrayal of him, and there isn't a day that goes by that she doesn't wish she hadn't hurt him. The guilt over the pain she caused him, and the fact that he is now living as a hermit, is constantly eating away at her. And the guilt over when she sees the state of Camelot, and what is happening to the people that once called Camelot home, because of King Gareth's reign, that is almost physically painful, because she feels completely responsible for this. Because, after all, it was caused by her affair with Lancelot. The guilt over what she did to Arthur was so bad that when the affair was found out, and the people of Camelot called for blood, Guinevere felt she deserved it. She would have, however, begged Arthur to spare Lancelot. Which in itself says just how much she cares for him, because Guinevere has never begged for anything else in her life, she's too proud. As it turned out, however, Arthur spared them both. Guinevere has always been grateful for that, though she doesn't understand what made him decide to do so for her when she didn't deserve it. Other: Guinevere is a very complicated and complex person, made up of three different sides of her. The first one is the one that she allows the general public to see. This side is confident and strong, seemingly never being fazed by anything, and always knowing how to handle any situation. Her second side, is one that only Lancelot has actually seen. This side is the woman beneath the armor, that is very loyal, caring and loving. But also struggles with her guilt, and once depression, though the depression she overcame awhile ago with the help of Lancelot. And then there's the third and rarely seen side of her. This side is Guinevere's temper, strength and determination. When pushed to her limits, Guinevere can have a nasty temper. This temper is what comes out when Guinevere is forced to fight, and what helps her to win. Her strength and determination is what is helping her to try to fix things and return them to once was.OOC: Okay, there she is. Let me know if you want me to fix anything.

Name: AmbrosiaNickname: Amber, AsiaAppearance: Age: AncientRace: FeyAllegiance: Anyone who is against King Gareth.Occupation: Ambrosia is an elemental/forest fairy. So basically her job is caring for the forest and nature.Weapon: Strengths: Being an elemental fey, Ambrosia is able to control both the weather and all of the elements. Being a forest fey, Ambrosia is also able to control nature, in a way. Meaning that she can make trees, flowers and so on grow with just a touch of her finger. Also, Ambrosia has the ability to heal wounds, but can not heal her own. She can't bring a person back from the dead, but she can save them if they're on the brink of it. That is, if they were fatally wounded, if they were poisoned, then she can't heal them. She might, however, be able to put together some sort of a cure out of herbs and things. When Ambrosia is able to access all of her powers, she's a force to reckon with.Weaknesses: Ambrosia is not a good fighter, whether with weapons or just hand to hand combat, chances are if forced to fight, Ambrosia would lose rather quickly. Without her powers, she would basically be defenseless. Ambrosia is at her strongest around nature, so if you were take her out of her nature habitat, she would slowly begin to weaken. If she's away from nature for a long period of time, Ambrosia would eventually become extremely weak and die, because the nature to he is like air and food for humans. Without it, she'd die.Goals: Ambrosia's main goal is to punish Gareth(she refuses to call that arrogant pompous bastard 'king' and would rather die) for all of the horrible things he's done. Especially for poisoning her kind. Her second goal is to help anyone that is against Gareth in any way that she possibly can. And her third goal is to save many magical beings as she possibly can from Gareth's reign.Fears: Ambrosia's deepest fear is being forced out of her beloved forest. While she loves Camelot, the Forest Of Dangerous Things is her true home. Even though it is, obviously, a dangerous place to live, Ambrosia has managed to find the right places to live without being bothered often by the dangerous beings that share the forest with her. Her second biggest fear, is being caught by Gareth. She's seen first hand what he can do, and she's as much afraid of him as she hates him. Her third fear is letting someone down that requires her help.Short Bio: Ambrosia has lived in the Forest Of Dangerous Things her entire life, and learned to co-exist with the others there, even the dangerous one she has learned to avoid. Needless to say, she knows her way around the forest quite well. During King Arthur's reign, Ambrosia would travel into Camelot and help when needed, whether it would be to heal an injured Knight, or add plants and trees to keep the city beautiful. Sometimes Ambrosia would even act as a nurse for those that were ill. After Gareth took over as King, Ambrosia hasn't stepped foot back inside Camelot, for fear of being caught. However she tries to stay just outside the city limits, to help anyone that escapes Camelot.
Ambrosia once had family and friends that she lived with in the forest, but then King Gareth poisoned the fey. Ambrosia was the only one that survived the poisoning in her family, despite her best efforts to help the others. Ambrosia nearly died herself from the poisoning, and to this day still isn't sure how she survived it. Losing everyone she cared about nearly destroyed and almost made her wish she had died with them. But, her anger over what had happened to her family has fueled her to help others avoid either the same fate as her family, or having to go through losing people they care about like she did, and to want to do whatever she can to make Gareth pay for what he's done.Other: Being so connected with nature, Ambrosia has a special way of communicating with animals. She can understand what they're trying to tell her, and can often convince them to do whatever she needs to. Though she never takes this for granted, and usually only does this when she needs to warn them to stay away from something dangerous.

Name: Magnus BaneNickname: Magnus hates nicknames, and will most likely turn anyone that calls him anything other than Magnus into a rat.Appearance: Age: AncientRace: WizardAllegiance: Magnus denies that he has an allegiance with anyone other than himself. He says that you can't count on other people and should fight your own battles. However, in truth, Magnus despises King Gareth, and this will probably be enough to convince him to help those that plan to overthrow him.Occupation: Magnus once worked for King Arthur himself, casting protection spells for him and his Knights, and any other magical need that King Arthur might have had. Since Magnus has a reputation for being a powerful wizard, he was often hired by the people of Camelot to do magic for them.Weapon: Magnus never carries a weapon with him. He feels his powers are more than enough to protect himself if needed.Strengths: Magnus' main strength is his powers. Having been around for so long, he has a very long list of spells and enchantments that he can use at his beck and call. He can turn people into rats with just a snap of his fingers, or anything else that he wants, if he feels like it.Weaknesses: Magnus is so dependent on his powers, that he hasn't spent much time practicing fighting. So if he were to lose his powers for some reason and forced to actually fight someone the old fashioned way, he probably wouldn't be that good at it and would most likely get his butt kicked.Goals: Magnus' main goal is to simply live his life how he wishes, without any drama or anyone telling him what he can and can not do. His second goal is to continue to experiment with spells and create new ones. And he supposes his third goal would be to try to do his fair part to return Camelot to its former glory.Fears: Magnus is very dependent on his powers, so he's afraid of losing them because he would pretty much be at a loss. He's also afraid of his secrets being found out. He has so many skeletons in his closet, he can barely close the door anymore. And finally he's afraid of trusting people. He's been betrayed before, and doesn't plan on doing it again.Short Bio: Magnus' history is long and interesting. Occasionally he'll tell a story about something he's done, but his full history remains a mystery to this day. For his most recent history, he's lived in Camelot doing little jobs here and there for people that hired him. At least, during King Arthur's reign. During King Gareth's reign, Magnus has mostly kept to himself and tried to avoid King Gareth and his Knights. However, unlike all of the other magical beings that had fled Camelot, Magnus is one of the few that has remained in Camelot, having refused to be ran off. He has protection spells around his home, and has made it clear to King Gareth and his Knights that if they try to come after him, he will make it extremely hard on them to actually kill him. And with Magnus' reputation, he's pretty sure they know he means it when he says he's not one to be crossed.Other: Magnus has a very laid back, carefree attitude. He acts as though nothing bothers or fazes him. He tends to not like being around people in general and only tolerates them when he has to. He has a very sarcastic nature and is usually found making dry, sarcastic remarks.
