Luke let out a light chuckle when Dani said that she'd keep his comment in mind about Jax not having a brain, for when she wanted to kill something. Normally Luke wouldn't have found the comment funny, especially not in his and Jax's line of work, but even while he didn't know Dani extremely well, he knew her enough that she was sort of RINS resident doctor. And anyone that tried to help people as much as Dani did, wasn't the type to go around and purposely try to hurt people. "I'll pay you if you just chase him around with a sharp object," he joked. It would be pretty funny to see something like that, and a good revenge on his cousin for the way he'd woken him up that morning after only a couple of hours sleep.
When Dani said that at least her hair color didn't hurt his eyes, Luke let out another light chuckle and nodded his head. "Yeah, that's true. Yours is a lot better," he agreed. "And uh, it probably doesn't make Dean want to hurl after having too much to drink the way that I think hers will," he joked. Luke wasn't a big drinker, but Jax did tend to have a lot on his nights off, and there had been more than one day that Luke had had to listen to him complain with hangovers. But, Luke did give him credit, even if he was hung over, he was usually ready to work the next day. Luke shifted his weight from one foot to the other and looked back to Dani. "Uh, well, looks like the excitement is over for right now," he said. "Looks like Dean is busy too," he commented, glancing over at his cousin, who was talking to the new girl. Luke suspected that he was trying to find out a little bit on her. Luke hoped he found out something useful, he was a little curious about her himself. Just showing up at X's headquarters, uninvited, wasn't exactly the smartest thing to do. Which meant she was either really brave, or really stupid. The jury was still out on that one.
Luke cleared his throat and looked back to Dani. "I was thinking about taking a walk, want to come with?" he asked. He thought it would give him something to do while his cousin was busy, and it would give him a chance to talk about the mission with a fellow agent, away from everyone else so there wasn't a fear of being overheard by a real criminal there.

Jax snorted when Phoenix said that misfits didn't even begin to describe the group. Jax had to agree, he realized. 'Misfits' didn't exactly describe how he felt about the gang. But then again, that was because he thought very lowly of criminals in general. But he wasn't like he could go telling her that, could he? She obviously wasn't a spy from RINS, which meant that she herself was a criminal. Yeah, not really a good idea to run down criminals when he was talking to one, which would also blow his cover. Even Jax wasn't that dense, and he really didn't want to do anything to put his cousin and the other agents in danger. Or risk losing the agents' chance of catching so many criminals at once.
Jax chuckled when Phoenix said that it was previous her that was the one causing trouble, and she had made a fabulous impression on X. "Uh, yeah, that's one way to put it," he said, grinning. It actually surprised Jax that X had so easily agreed to let Phoenix stay there; something wasn't quite right. But Jax wasn't sure what X was up to. He was either too distracted by something else that he just didn't care. . . but that didn't feel right. X wasn't an idiot, from what Jax had seen and heard. So maybe he had something up his sleeve. Not exactly a comfortable thought, Jax thought. But then again, he did always like a challenge. That's what made the job so fun, right?
The girl went on to introduce herself as Phoenix, and say that she had her ways, that she'd had a hacker on her team once. Jax tilted his head a little, considering that and trying to decide if she was telling the truth. And if she was, if it made her sound more like being a criminal or spy. Well, maybe former spy? He knew he'd never seen her at RINS, so maybe she had once worked there before he joined? Or maybe she was a spy for another agency. That was a possibility, he realized. Maybe he'd contact headquarters later and ask them about her, send in a picture and see if anyone there could tell him who she was. If she was a spy for another agency, then RINS needed to know that so they could contact them. If not, then maybe they could Jax if she was a known criminal or not. That was sort of a sad thought, if she was a criminal. She was pretty, and Jax would hate to have to drag her off to jail.
Phoenix asked if he wanted to go somewhere else, since he was going to play a hundred questions. "Well, I only have 99 questions, but sure, why not?" he said, grinning again. Might as well, he thought, it would give him a little more time to try to see what he could find out about her. "And really, you can't blame me, can you? It's not everyday that someone just waltz in here, uninvited," he said with a shrug. Although, even Jax had to admit that it did seem to be happening a little more often than he would expect. "So uh, where do you want to go?" he asked.

X glanced up at Violet when she said that Phoenix was an interesting one. "That's an understatement," he muttered. "She better hope she knew what she was getting herself into," he said, smirking, "because I have some plans for her that'll make her regret just marching in here like she did," he muttered. X hated when people didn't respect him. Respect was what kept him as being the leader of the gang, and he had to be careful about not losing it. It didn't take much to get not out of the leader position, after all, and X had held onto his gang for too long to let that happen. And after the spy fiasco a few years ago, X was much more careful about who he let into his gang.
X wasn't quite as dumb as he was sure some of those in his gang believed he was, for just letting so many people join in. X had his reasons for letting each person into the group. And he also knew that not all of them were what they pretended to be. But he knew that they each one had their uses. He would wait until they weren't worth anything to him anymore. . . and then he'd dispose of them. A few of them were already very close to being there. He was giving a couple of them a few more tests, to see if they were worthy of keeping around longer. And others he already knew exactly when he would be kicking them out.
X snapped out of his thoughts when Violet spoke again, asking if they had a diamond to get or if it was something else tonight. X sighed. "Yeah, it's the diamond, all right," he said. He refused to call the diamond exactly what it was at the moment, he wanted to wait until he told the gang as a whole just exactly what they would be doing. He'd told Letty that they would be going after a very expensive, coveted diamond, but he hadn't told her exactly which one. The Hope Diamond wasn't something that X was willing to miss out on, and he didn't want to take any chances that someone in the gang would get some wild idea and try to get their greedy little hands on it first. No, X wanted to have a little meeting with everyone in the gang, tell them all at once about what they would be doing, have it be too soon to when X planned on getting the diamond so that nobody could beat him to it, and make sure that each and every member of his gang understood that they would seriously regret trying to get their hands on the diamond first; the price of doing that would be severe torture and ultimately death. X already had a nice little plan in mind for anyone that even tried to get to the diamond before him.
X sighed. "I guess we should round everyone up soon, so I can tell them about the plan for tonight," he said. Sometimes X hated gathering everyone into one room because not only did he hate dealing with so many people at once, but a couple of them sometimes didn't listen, and X would not repeat himself, nor did he like if someone let on like it couldn't be done. Which, he wouldn't be surprised if a couple of people in the group did when they found out that they would be going after the Hope Diamond tonight. X went quiet for a second, then grinned. "I might as well tell you," he started, lowering his voice to avoid being overheard by anyone, "that when we go after the diamond; it's going to be a test for a few people. Those that fail, I'm going to consider no longer useful to the gang," he said with a shrug. "And there's a few that I know aren't what they seem. I'm planning on letting them know that I'm on to their little secret, very, very soon," he added, grinning.

Maddox noticed that Dagger gave him a glare for calling her Sunshine, that was to be expected. He knew that she didn't like nicknames but he thought that he was still alive, so maybe she secretly liked them from him. She heard her, "Sounds like you need a good release." he said, with a wink. Yeah, it sounded exactly what he his thoughts went directly towards. "Well, not everyone slept all day." he commented on her complaint. "That sounds sexual, i'll keep that in mind." he responded, with a smirk with his one sarcastic tone.
"I hope X is done letting in noobs." he said, with a shrug. But then again, it could always be worse. Then he heard him ask about the new girl, "She's a Sandman, seems pretty determined to piss off X. I think it'll be hilarious." he responded. "I doubt, you'll be getting a roommate." he comment, with a smirk.

Kyra rolled her eyes at Maddox's comment about needing a good release. Why hadn't she seen that one coming? She thought sarcastically. "Oh yeah, I do. . ." Kyra said, pretending that she was going along with it. "And you know what I've always found to be a good release?" she asked. She took a step closer to him, and then grinned. "Kicking the shit out of people that annoy me," she said, smacking him upside the head. It was his own fault, Kyra thought, for continuing to push her buttons. He knew perfectly well he was annoying, she thought, rolling her eyes again and quickly taking several steps away from him.
Kyra sighed, blowing her bangs out of her eyes as she looked back towards New Girl. "Sandman, huh?" she repeated. "Lovely. Not," she muttered. Kyra hated when there was someone of a species she didn't know much about, especially a criminal. Kyra liked to know about her enemies, and what to expect from them. She only knew the basics about sandmen, the obvious info was the extent of her knowledge. She made a mental note to do some research later. "And I better not have to. Otherwise she might have a little accident rather quickly," she muttered. She then shrugged. "I could care less if she pisses X off or not, as long as they keep it down. Some of us have headaches," she muttered.
Sighing, Kyra realized that she'd finished off the last of coffee. She was tempted to go make some more, but decided against it. Something told her that the kitchen was probably a little more crowded than when she'd been in there earlier, and she didn't want to deal with any more people than she absolutely had to right now. Or, well, ever. "I'm going to go let off a stream," she muttered. She sat her cup down on a table, let one of the maids clean it up. X had several servants, they could do what they were paid to do and clean up rather than stand around and eavesdrop, and taking it into the kitchen herself meant maybe dealing with other people. Kyra turned and walked down the hallway, and didn't stop until she reached the game room. She liked the game room because there were so many things to do, and Kyra had always been just a little bit of a game geek, so to speak. She walked over to the air hockey table, pursing her lips. Maybe she could challenge Maddox to some kind of a game. Might put her in a slightly better mood if she got to kick his butt at a game. Or two.
