Ryder nodded and tried to remember everyone's name and what they were. Grimm asked why he was here and he gave a small shrug. “The usually, I heard there was some big nasty evil brewing up trouble and I figured I'd stop by and see if I could help make sure the evil didn't get whatever it wanted.” He said feeling like that explained his intentions well enough. He thought it was kind of cool to meet another slayer, he'd met one back in the 60's and she was quite the trip. He'd never met a good vampire before though, that was new but he didn't really find it shocking or anything. “So now what? We all gonna team up and go fight evil or what?” He asked. He'd never really worked with a group of people before, he usually fought alone but it was good to have allies especially if this big bad was as bad as he'd heard.

Rattlesnake was in a seriously bad mode, his fight with Valentine hadn't gone as he'd wanted and he'd lost his dinner. He knew the fight wasn't going to end with a kill, neither had a stake, and so he'd ducked out and headed towards Rainer's house. The demon was probably going to be ticked that he was late but 'Snake didn't really care, he didn't take orders from demons unless he was offered something worth his while. It didn't take him long to find Rainer's house, it was a big old house with an ugly looking door knocker. Rattlesnake shrugged and knocked a few times waited about three seconds and shoved the door open. Since he was able to walk right in he knew it was the right place since vampires could enter the home of a demon. “Rainer?” He shouted. “What no welcome party? I came all this way, went through a bit of trouble just to get here and what do I get? No hospitality.” He said sarcastically wandering around the home. Maybe the demon had a few pet humans or something he could snack on.

Spike quickly drained every drop of blood from his victim before tossing the useless husk to the side and licking any leftover blood from his lips as he face changed back to it's human look. He felt much better after a good kill, and he was glad when he heard Dru's head felt better too. He was about to answer Dru when a demon appeared. Spike rolled his eyes, Jack was one of those holier than thou demons, strutting around like he was so great just because he was demon. Spike was pretty sure he could kick that demon's all the way back to the pit it crawled out from. “Well if it isn't Rainer's little purebred pet, looks like he's given a bit more slack to your leash there Jackie.” Spike said angry at the mention of Rattlesnake. “So why is it Rainer failed to mention that he'd invited that jackass. You know I don't really like surprises, mate.” Spike said taking a step closer to the demon, a hostile edge to his voice and he was clearly sarcastic when he called him mate. He glanced back at Dru, “There's no need to stay and work with Rainer and Rattlesnake, I'm sure we could find plenty of trouble to stir up back in London.” He said, knowing how much she disliked being around Rattlesnake, and he didn't want anything to do with the vampire either.

Xandra rolled her eyes at Dexter as she split from him and took off towards her group of newborn vampires. She actually believed him that he could handle them. If she hadn't, she never would have let him come here with her, after all. But Xandra. . . well, Xandra liked to give people a hard time. It was just in her nature. She didn't want anyone to think she was impressed. Mostly because she didn't want someone getting a big head on them, get too full of themselves. That led to people getting too cocky in fights and getting themselves killed. Xandra had seen it happen too many times. So if Dexter thought she was being rude, condescending or even a bitch? Well, then she'd deal with it. She didn't really care what anyone thought of her. Well, alright, not exactly true. But she would never admit that.
Xandra pulled her stake out of her belt as she ran, and caught up with the trio of vampires before they even knew that she was there. She shoved the stake into the back of one of the vampires. He barely had time to do some kind of howl/scream noise before he crumpled into dust. The other two vampires spun around, and Xandra smirked at them. "Oh, did I interrupt or something?" she asked dryly. One of the vampires lunged at her, and Xandra dodged, bringing her knee up and nailing him in the stomach. Then she grabbed the arm of the second vampire and flipped him over onto his back when he tried to lunge at her. A few newborn vampires wasn't really any challenge, which was why they barely landed any hits on Xandra while she fought them. A punch here, or a kick there. Not even full force, so it barely knocked the wind out of her.
But, Xandra never liked to play around with vampires she planned on dusting, which was why Xandra pulled her stake out and dusted the second one. But, as that vampire crumbled into dust, Xandra heard a voice yelling. A voice she knew all too well. Losing her focus on her own fight, Xandra's head snapped in that direction. Sure enough, she spotted Valentine. With Dexter. Crap.
Before she had time to react, or even think for that matter, the vampire she'd been fighting, the only one left out of the trio, suddenly swept his foot out and knocked Xandra's legs out from under her. Knocking her onto her ass, and sent her head slamming against a tombstone. Xandra gritted her teeth at the sharp pain that shot through her head, and was pretty sure she saw stars floating in front of her eyes for a second. Which, just pissed her off. As the vampire lunged at her, Xandra grabbed her stake and brought it up, jabbing it into the vampire's chest and purposely missing the heart. Instead she twisted it, pulled it out, and then hit the heart. Just a little extra pain for causing her to hit her head.
Xandra quickly scrambled to her feet, and took off in the direction of Dexter and Valentine. By the time she got there, however, Dexter had already thrown the holy water in Val's face, and Valentine looked to be trying to get the water off his face. Which, Xandra noticed, had changed into his vampire one. Probably changed because of the holy water, she guessed. Val had told her he hated that because it 'burned like hell' as he had described it. Yeah, that would probably piss her off too.
"Knock it off. Now!" she snapped. The second that Xandra reached them, she didn't waste any time in firmly placing herself between Val and Dexter, facing Dexter and her back turned towards Val. Which, was not something Xandra did lightly. She had learned a very long time ago to never turn her back towards someone you weren't absolutely sure you could trust. She trusted Val, vamp face and all. She didn't know Dexter, and therefore, didn't trust him. "You, back off. He's with me. I so much as see you wiggle a stake in his direction and I will shove it up your ass so far your pancreas will have splinters," Xandra warned, pointing her index finger at him.
Giving Dexter one more warning glare, she shrugged out of her denim jacket and turned to face Valentine. "Here, use this to wipe the water off," Xandra said, shoving the jacket into his hands. Which was when Xandra actually got a good look at him. He looked like he'd already been in a fight. Xandra sighed, well there came the guilt again. "You alright?" she asked. "Well, besides the burning like hell part," she added dryly. In all honestly, Xandra wasn't surprised to see Valentine there. She'd expected him to get there either a little before her, or shortly after her. Hell, she wouldn't have even been surprised if he hadn't came to the graveyard looking for her. What she was confused about, though, was how she felt about him being there. The part of her that had made her decide to leave him behind was upset because if he was there, then she might not be able to keep him out of the mess that was coming like she'd wanted. But the part of her that had missed him since she'd left, was happy to see him. Xandra decided to shut both voices out. She'd have a little talk with Valentine later, alone. But right now she needed to deal with the situation at hand.
She glanced back towards Dexter, wanting to watch and make sure he wasn't going to try something else. Honestly she was hoping he got the hint and didn't try going after Val again. She really didn't want to have to kick his ass, because she already knew without question she'd take Val's side in a fight between the two. But, Dexter reminded Xandra a little of herself, and she'd rather not have to fight him. "He's a good guy, Dexter. He doesn't eat people, and if you need proof look at the fact he didn't attack you. And, unless I missed something, I didn't see him fight you after you hit him with holy water. How many vamps you know like that?" Xandra challenged, raising an eyebrow at him. She knew Valentine wouldn't fight Dexter unless he had to, hence why she was trying to convince Dexter not to try to fight.

Grimm blinked at Kuro for a second, after she said that before coming there she'd seen a girl and guy fighting with a. . . demon monster vampire guy. "Uh, a demon/monster/vampire guy?" Grimm repeated. That didn't sound good. Clearing his throat and deciding to try to figure out what that was in a moment, he realized who Kuro must have seen. Before he could answer, Cici spoke up, saying that she thought being a Slayer was a girl's thing.
"I don't know what the creature thing was, I haven't heard of anything described like that before. The girl you sure was probably Xandralexia. She was suppose to be here by now. The man with her. . . well, my guess is that it was probably her boyfriend, Valentine. Although, the last time I saw him he had light hair, and he's a vampire. I don't know why he'd small like Slayer," Grimm said frowning. For the moment, Grimm decided to pass it off as maybe Kuro had just picked it up because of where he was with Xandra. But something still felt off to him. "It's up to you if want to go check on them, but I should warn you that Xandralexia doesn't like when people involve themselves in her fights," he warned. Actually that was one of the quickest ways to piss Xandra off, get involved in one of her fights. She claimed that it was because she took it was that person thinking she couldn't handle it on her own, and Grimm knew that was part of it. But he also suspected that another part of it was that she didn't want anyone getting hurt in a fight that was hers.
Looking back to Cici, Grimm cleared his throat. "Uh, Xandralexia Kincaid is a friend of mine. She's a Slayer as well. I asked her to come in and help train you. Her boyfriend, Valentine, is a vampire. But a good one like Kuro. I assume he's traveled here with her,' he explained. "Xandra's been a Slayer for 16 years, since she was 12, she should have some good tricks to teach you," he added. "As for Slayers only being girls. . ." Grimm shrugged. "It is mostly girls, yes. However, there have been a few, very few, rare cases of a male Slayer. I had a charge once that was a Slayer, but on her sixteenth birthday, she died before coming into her Slayer position. It was passed on to her twin brother. He died two months ago, trying to kill the vampire that had killed his sister," Grimm explained frowning. He didn't like talking about his past charges. Especially the ones that had died too soon. That was why Grimm was trying to be extra protective towards Cici. Unlike most Watchers, or at least the ones he knew, Grimm didn't grow detached from his charges, but rather began to think of them as his kids. Losing one was like losing his own daughter or son.
Clearing his throat and wanting to change the subject, he looked back to Ryder, as he answered his question. His answer made Grimm a little suspicious. He had came there because he'd heard rumors about what was going on. And Grimm wondered if he'd heard rumors about Cici as well. Or if it were truly only about the evil there. Then again, it explained his being there well enough, and Grimm didn't like to accuse people he didn't know. If Ryder was truly just wanting to help, then Grimm was always happy to have another ally. In a war, you needed as much help as you could get. At his question of what to do now, Grimm paused for a second.
Finally, Grimm sighed. "Well, I did want to take Cici out training again. And we need to check out the graveyards for newborn vampires. Five brothers died suspiciously a few days ago, I think they might have been turned. If so, we can't have five new born vampires roaming the streets." And he wanted to find Xandra, see what the creature was she'd been fighting. He suspected the creature was probably already dead by now, especially if Xandra had had Valentine helping her fight it. But that the man she was with didn't fit Valentine's description had Grimm a little concerned, if Xandra had been out numbered she might need some help. Clearing his thoughts, he looked back to Ryder. "You're welcome to join us, if you like. You too, Kuro. We might need your help if there's a group of newborn running around," he added. Especially if they found the newborns before Xandra, and Cici froze on him. Grimm was getting older, and he was only a Watcher. He could handle one newborn well enough. Two was pushing it. And five. . . well, Grimm would become dinner.

Jinx rolled her eyes and chuckled at Logan's question of if she'd invited any vampire into her house. "No, just a werewolf. And a Slayer. And a Watcher. But I don't think they need invites to come inside. Well, unless they're super polite. But Cici knows she can come in!" Jinx rambled. Her and Cici had been friends for a long time. Long before Jinx had learned she was a witch, or before Cici had found out she was a Slayer. She'd known Logan for a long time as well. Luckily though she'd already found out she was a witch before she'd found out he was a werewolf. Made it easier, and Jinx didn't freak out. Well, much. But she got over it quickly! Obviously.
Jinx reached the window in the hallway and unlocked it, pushing it open. And then moved on to a couple of other windows, hearing Logan agreeing to go check on Cici. By the time that Jinx had finished opening her windows, the smoke had almost completely cleared and she suspected that Logan had opened all of the windows he'd found. Good, hopefully now her parents wouldn't be upset when they came home. Then again, it wasn't Jinx's fault that the earthquake had happened and broken one of her vials. Hmmm. . . maybe she could blame her bedroom being so messy on the earthquake too? Jinx wondered with a chuckle. Nah, her mother would never buy it.
Finishing with the windows, she rounded back to find Logan. Chuckling at his comment about it being easier to breath. "Yeah it is. I guess it must be kind of suffocating with your doggy nose and all," she teased. She actually didn't mind that Logan was a werewolf, but she loved to give him a hard time over it. Only fair, after all, since he usually gave her a hard time over being a klutz. "Come on, let's go find Cici now. But you'd better not stop and sniff any fire hydrants!" she joked. Not wanting on an answer before she grabbed Logan's hand and pulled him outside with her. Once Jinx hit the sidewalk, she headed towards Grimm's house. Maybe they could get there in time to catch up with them before they headed out. Grimm had said that he wanted to take Cici out training again. And Jinx wanted to tag along and make sure it went alright. Sure, Cici was a Slayer and all, but she was Jinx's friend and that meant that Jinx tried to look out for her.

Rainer was in the middle of his spell, just a couple of minutes away from finishing it and resurrecting another demon, this one to sic on the Slayer. When he heard someone knocking on the door upstairs, Rainer tried to ignore it and continue the chant, but hearing someone shouting at him broke Rainer's concentration and therefore, ruined the spell. Rainer let out a low growl. Oh, now one of the bloodsuckers decided to show up. He sighed and tossed the book onto the stand again. He'd have to start from the beginning, and Rainer hated having to start over. But, while he wanted to go ahead and get the creature resurrected that second, he knew that leaving Rattlesnake roaming around the house meant he'd probably destroy stuff. And besides, Rainer had something to say to the rather annoying vampire anyway.
Grumbling under his breath, Rainer turned and headed up the stairs. Once upstairs, it only took him a moment to find Rattlesnake. "Oh we had a whole big welcome party waiting on you. Had you shown up on time, you'd have even gotten a few gifts," Rainer said sarcastically. This was one of the reasons he hated working with vampires. They never showed up on time, could only come out at night, and usually tended to be as annoying as Rattlesnake. But, at the moment, Rainer needed them to help him get what he wanted. Crossing his arms over his chest and glaring at Rattlesnake, he cut straight to the point.
"I don't have time, I'm in the middle of something, so I'm going to get straight to the point. The reason I called you here is because I want you to bring someone to me. A young girl, named Cinnamon. New Slayer, doesn't even barely know to fight, from what I hear. Should be an easy grab for you. Unless you can get your ass kicked by a teenage girl," Rainer grumbled. He walked over to a table and yanked a picture of it, handing it to Rattlesnake. "That is the girl I want. If you bring her to me, alive and unbitten, your reward will be a gem that I have in my possession that will allow you to walk in the sun without toasting."
Tilting his head, Rainer decided to add what he hoped would be the final thing he needed to convince Rattlesnake to bring the girl to him, and quickly. "And if that isn't enough, if you bring her to me first, you'll get the thrill of beating Spike and Drusilla to the punch. They're on their way here as well, for the very same reason," he add, shrugging.

Jack narrowed his eyes at Spike. If it wasn't for Rainer's orders that he was only to get the vampires to him, he would have clocked him on the spot. But Rainer would be pissed if he dusted one of the vampires he wanted working for him. Besides, Jack was finding it amusing how quick the bloodsucker was to annoy. He always did like to mess with people, and this one would be too easy. "Ah, I see. You're afraid of losing out to Rattlesnake, so you're going to run away with your tail between your legs before that happens. Is that it?" Jack asked, purposely taunting him. Deciding that maybe if it made it sound like they were afraid of Rattlesnake, it would be enough to make them go through with the job.
Then he shrugged his shoulders. "It's nothing to me if you two want to be cowards and not face Rattlesnake. I'm sure he'll just get a kick out of that. I'll be sure to tell him," Jack smirked. "Oh and uh, I guess that means the gems will go to Rattlesnake too. The ones that Rainer plans to give to the person to who brings him what he wants first, it'll let any vampire walk in the sun without burning to a crisp."
Dru frowned, her face shifting back into its normal one, as she watched the exchange between Spike and Jack. Jack was purposely baiting Spike. That was painfully clear. But she wasn't sure if he were baiting him because he was trying to convince them to go to Rainer's, or because he was trying to get him to fight him. Didn't make much sense for a fight, so she was leaning more towards trying to convince them to go to Rainer's. Dru was suddenly not that interested in the job Rainer was offering them. Not if it meant working with Rattlesnake. There were a lot of people Dru didn't like, but her sire was at the very top of the list. She hated being anywhere around the man. But. . . Dru also didn't like the thought of Rattlesnake getting a thrill out of them not going because of him.
Shaking off the thoughts, Dru stepped forward and put her hand on Spike's arm, trying to avoid a fight. "We'll discuss it," she told Jack. "Now, don't you have some other things to do for your boyfriend? I mean, boss," Dru said.
Jack narrowed his eyes at Dru's comment. But then smirked. "I really hope you guys don't decide to go through it. That way I'll get the thrill of killing you both when Rainer gets pissed and sends me after you," he said. Then with that, Jack disappeared in a puff of black smoke.
Dru sighed. "Well, I don't like the thought of working with him of all people," she grumbled, meaning Rattlesnake. "But he would just love it if he thought we didn't go because of him," she added. She could almost see his ugly face laughing over that. Shaking her head, she looked back to Spike. "I'll leave the decision up to you," she admitted. Normally, Dru had no problem putting in her two cents on what they should or shouldn't do. However with this, she was highly undecided. She didn't want to face Rattlesnake, but as much as she didn't want to face him she didn't want him to think she was intimated by him. He'd gotten enough of that when she'd been human, before he'd turned her.

Cinnamon carefully listened to everyone, and gave a slight nod, “I do think Jinx should be heading towards this way, as well” she admitted, though she didn’t really want to train. She didn’t want to die from a vampire, she just wanted to live her life as a normal American teenager. It really sucked that she was giving this as some sort of crazy demand. She didn’t get to chose this life, she was forced into it. She heard him ask if they was going to tag team and fight evil and it made her giggle, then she heard Grimm answering him. It was quite odd having all these supernatural creatures around. It was almost as if, everyone was protecting the slayers. Was they really that important? Or was it her? Wait, not, that couldn’t possibly be it. She was special but she didn’t think she was that special. She gave Ryder a smile, “Sounds like fun, I don’t know if I would be very good at this. I could just watch you.” she said, flashing a smile. She didn’t really noticed that could be taken flirty but it really didn’t mind.
Kuro heard Grimm and shook her head, she really didn’t believe that the guy she saw was a vampire. Her kind was way easier for her to spot then anything else so she just shrugged it off and kept her opinion to herself. If all else failed, she could toss around some more lava and put on a show. It’s what she liked to do, especially if only supernatural was around to witness it. She heard Grimm invite her and the Wizard guy and she gave a slight nod, “Sure, sounds like fun.” she responded to him. It would be pretty fun but she also noticed that Cici froze a lot, it’s like her mind just stops and she has no idea what to do. It was quite sad, how was she going to handle when they tell her that she was the chosen one. She didn’t know it yet but it felt like everyone but the poor girl knew, it was slightly amusing.
Logan almost missed Jinx rolling her eyes at him, since he was already walking towards his given task. Then he heard her comment, he gave her a light smirk, “At least, I’m not a big bad wolf.” he joked back with her. Before he knew it he was waiting for her return, he wanted if her parents would buy the whole earthquake did it but he wouldn’t put it past him if they just blamed her for it, to see how she would react. That’d be hilarious on his part. Then he heard her dogy comment about his nose, “Yeah, I have a very high sense of smell so yeah, now that I can smell. Nice perfume.” he said, glancing towards her. Then later he heard her say something about coming on and not sniffing fire hydrants. Then he was being pulled away before he was being pulled outside by his hand. At least, it wasn’t by his nose, that shit hurt. “hold on, I need to sniff.” he teased her back, with a light chuckle. He kept up with her perfectly.

Spike would've beaten the holy hell out of that demon if he hadn't disappeared. Calling him a coward and accusing him of being afraid to face Rattlesnake? It was the most absurd thing he'd ever heard. He knew Jack was just trying to bait him and he'd be more than happy to practice his face punching skills on the demon but while Spike wasn't afraid of demons he didn't really want to be on Rainer's bad side. Dru left the decision up to Spike, which was almost like deciding to stay because running from a challenge was the last thing Spike ever wanted to do. If she had really wanted to leave he assumed she'd have said so, it was unlikely some demon's taunting would sway her. “Well then it looks like we've got a job then.” Spike said shrugging as he headed back to the car. “And once this job is finished we'll celebrate, and I'll bring you a beaten, bloody Rattlesnake all wrapped up in chains.” He said with slight growl before getting back in the car and starting her up. “Guess we'd better go see Rainer then.”

Rattlesnake rolled his eyes. “Oh of course I can handle some teenage girl. I thought you'd called me here for a challenge but I'm sure I can manage to grab some girl who can't find the pointy end of a stake.” He said only slightly amused by his assignment. He picked up a small glass ball from a shelf and start tossing it in the air and catching it. He wondered what all this junk Rainer had was for, probably magic. Rattlesnake didn't care for magic all that much, it usually just caused more trouble than it was worth, plus all that chanting and stuff sounded silly. “After I bring you this slayer, can I have the thrill of beating Spike and Dru for failing.” He asked grinning. He was glad they were here, he thought it might be fun to kill Spike and make Dru watch. And this gem that would let him walk around in the sun sounded like it could be fun. He hadn't seen the sun in centuries and to be able to face it without burning up would be nice. “I ran into Valentine earlier, the vampire that's always palling around with this old slayer, Xandra.” Rattlesnake informed Rainer, almost spitting the slayers name out. He really didn't like her or he pet vampire. “She could be a bit more trouble than the the other one.” He added figuring if he was going to work for this demon he should tell him what he knew.

Ryder smiled back Cici. “I'm sure you'll do fine, I mean you've got those slayer instincts right? The key to get better is to get in more and more fights, so your brain can get used to all that extra adrenaline you get. Once you get used to how your brain works during danger you'll be able to thin clearer, and then kick some crazy vampire ass.” He said trying to offer some advice, he could remember the first time he was in a fight, how everything seemed to move so much faster and he couldn't even manage to get a thought together and he'd barely even been able to move. He was lucky that fight was with a friend and not a vampire than wanted to rip his neck open. He looked over at Kuro hoping his comment about kicking vampire ass hadn't bothered her. “No offense, I meant evil vampires.” He added for good measure. He realized he's have adjust his fight method if he was going to be fighting with a vampire or two. It sounded like another slayer was coming and bringing a vampire as well. It meant he couldn't be creating balls of sunlight and he'd need to be extra careful about where he chucked those fireballs. The last thing he wanted to do was accidentally dust an ally. He looked over at Grimm and nodded. “Sure thing I mean I didn't come all the way here just to sit back and watch.”

Dex was more than ready to turn this vampire into dust in the wind when Xandra jumped in between him. That was annoying, he hadn't interrupted her fight with Mr. Ugly and her she was fixing to ruin his fun. Then as if it wasn't bad enough she told him he couldn't kill this vampire. He starred at her wide eyed and more than a little confused. Was she for real right now, this was clearly not the time to be playing practical jokes. Even if the vampire was distracted with the holy water know turning your back on one was just stupid. “Are you out of your mind? That is a vampire, you are supposedly a vampire slayer, why do I have explain how this works?” He asked annoyed by this development. The last thing he'd expected to find here was a Slayers for Ethical Treatment of Vampires group. Then she went about giving him her jacket and talking to the vampire like it was a person.
“Seriously, Babe, are you insane? Of course I've never met a vampire that didn't try to attack, that's what they do they EAT people, especially slayers.” He said getting angrier the more he talked. “I'm not going to be the fool that falls for the oh, I'm good vampire trick, cause there ain't no such thing.” He figured she must know the guy, probably from when he was alive but surely a slayer would know how being a vampire works. There not who they were as a human, the soul leaves and in it's place is a demon that wants only to kill and feed and cause destruction. All he could do was try and convince her this vampire needed to be dusted, he knew he there was no way he was going to take a slayer in a fair fight, certainly not one with the amount of experience he claim and if the vampire fought to he wouldn't even have a chance if he was very very lucky. This whole situation was at a level of insanity he'd never had to deal with before. This was why he liked to work alone, other people were more trouble than they were usually worth.
Valentine was a bit revealed when Lexi put a stop to her new friends attack. He didn't want the kid since they were probably on the same side and there side could use all the help it could get. Even if that meant working with who had thrown holy water at him. Lexi asked if he was alright and he nodded as he used the jacket to wipe the rest of the water off. “Yeah I guess, at least we won't have to argue about who the pretty one is for a while. Oh and I ran into Rattlesnake earlier, he says hi.” He said trying to lighten the tension a bit. He knew he probably looked like hell and after a few seconds the worst of the burning went away and he could see a little better. His face changed back into the human one and he looked over at the kid who'd thrown the holy water. “Names Valentine, I am vampire but I've got soul so we're all on same side. Only things I've ever killed are vampires and demons.” He said as he stepped around Lexi and tried to offer a hand to Dexter, hoping they could just shake hands and put this behind them.
“Try and touch me with your cold undead hand and I will break every bone in that hand.” Dex said taking a step back from the vampire, or Valentine as it called itself. He didn't really care what the vampire said, vampires lied and he wasn't going to trust it. He kept his eyes on the vampire, and it took all of this self control not to try and stake the thing.
Valentine rolled his eyes and pulled his hand back and gave Lexi back her jacket. “So what's so special about the middle of Montana that you thought I couldn't handle.” He asked.

Xandra sighed, rolling her eyes at Dexter when he asked if she was insane. "Maybe a little bit, yeah. Who isn't in this kind of life?" she grumbled sarcastically. "I am a vampire slayer. Not supposedly one. And I know how it works just fine. I've known Valentine for ten years, he hasn't tried to 'eat' me once, otherwise he'd be dust by now. So not all of them do." Xandra sighed and ran her hand through her hair. "Look, I know where you're coming from. Trust me, I do. I used to be the same way. But not everything is so black and white, Dexter. There's a whole gray area. I learned a long time ago that not everyone that's suppose to be good is, and not everyone that's suppose to be evil is. Trusting someone that's suppose to be good can be just as dangerous as trusting someone that's suppose to be evil. And if you could just learn that, you'd be a hell of a force. But until then, you're just putting yourself in more danger by being so close-minded," Xandra said. She decided to leave it at that. Giving Dexter a lecture wasn't going to change his mind. Xandra just hoped that maybe eventually something would get through that thick head of his and he'd see that things weren't always just so cut and dry.
She looked back to Valentine when he answered her question. She was pretty sure his comment was meant to try to lessen the tension a little, and it helped a little, Xandra felt her shoulders relax a little. But her headache increased at the mention of Rattlesnake. "Oh gee, I'm so sorry I missed him. I had a gift for him," she said dryly. Her 'gift' of course was in the shape of a nice, pointy stake. Xandra hated Rattlesnake, and would love nothing more than to stake him and leave him out in the sun. Sure, she hated what he did, but she also had a personal grudge against him. She'd first crossed paths with him when she was 18, actually the night she met him was the first time she'd met Valentine as well. Xandra had been in a fight with a demon, and she'd won, but at a cost. She'd gotten pretty injured during the fight, and Rattlesnake surprised her. Because she was already hurt, he got the upper hand and managed to do something that no other vampire had done; he'd bit her. Which, needless to say, still pissed Xandra off to this day, especially whenever she looked in the mirror and saw the two faint scar marks his fangs had left in her neck. But, before Rattlesnake had had a chance to draw much blood, Valentine had joined in and gotten him off her. That had been what had made Xandra realize that Valentine was different from most vampires; he'd basically saved her ass and then stuck around to make sure she was alright. Sure, it was still years before she actually trusted him, but that had earned him some major points right off the bat.
She watched as Valentine offered a hand to Dexter, a hand Dexter promptly refused and threatened to break. Xandra rolled her eyes. This was off to a great start, she thought sarcastically. She took her jacket back when Valentine handed it back to her, but she kept her eyes on the ground when he asked her what was so special about Montana that she thought he couldn't handle. Mostly because she wasn't sure how to answer. Xandra didn't want to tell him the truth. She didn't want him in the middle of what was coming. But. . . obviously Valentine wasn't going to be left out of it. And at least if she told him, he'd know what was happening, right? It went against Xandra's nature to tell him, but what else could she do at this point? "It's not so much what's here, as what's coming here," she muttered. Sighing, she finally looked back to Val. "The reason I came here, is because Grimm called me. He has a new Slayer that he wants me to help train. She's apparently just freezing up at the sight of vampires," she explained. "She's also. . . she's the Chosen One. He hasn't told her yet, because he's trying to get her use to just being a Slayer. But I don't think he can keep it a secret from her for much longer," she said. She paused and looked towards Dexter. "Grimm is a watcher, and an old friend of mine. I can introduce you to him. I think you'd like him, he's human, after all," Xandra said. As annoyed as she was with Dexter at the moment, she still didn't want to cut ties with him. She hoped that maybe if she could get him to meet Grimm, maybe Grimm could talk some sense into him.
Looking back to Valentine, Xandra knew that Val would figure out there was more to the story than that. After all, she never would have just left him just for that reason alone. "I also got a call from Josephina, about a vision she'd had," she continued. "There's. . . there's someone coming here, someone that I didn't want you to get caught in the crossfires of." Xandra crossed her arms over her chest. She cleared her throat and decided to just get it out there. "It's uh. . . it's Griffin," she admitted. Griffin was a vampire, and a pretty well known one at that. He had killed the Slayer that Xandra had had to replace, and then he'd turned around and killed Xandra's parents just a few nights later. Xandra had never gone into details, but she had told Valentine that her parents had been murdered by Griffin. She'd only had one fight with Griffin, and it had been an ugly one. Griffin had, obviously, gotten away unstaked, and she hadn't seen him since. "Josephina said that he would be here pretty soon. I didn't want you to s. . . to be involved in it. That's why I tried to keep you from coming here." That was the truth, and even though Xandra hadn't wanted to tell him, it felt like a relief to just get it over with. She did, however, leave out what exactly Josephina had seen. "I am sorry that I left you like I did. I was planning on tracking you down later after everything blew over," she added, shrugging her shoulders.

Dru had already known what Spike's answer would be before he ever said that they had a job to do then. Since she knew that Spike was never one to run away from a challenge. And honestly, Dru was the same way. She wasn't the type to just run away from a fight, even if she didn't want to see Rattlesnake. She turned and followed Spike over to the car as he headed back to it. Dru grinned, chuckling at Spike's plan on how to celebrate once the job was finished. "That sounds like the perfect way to celebrate. We could torture him for a bit, before staking him and leaving him out for the sun rise," Dru murmured as she climbed into the passenger's side of the car and closed the door. At his comment about going to see Rainer, Dru grinned again. "Well, at least you got directions from dinner," she pointed out.
Rainer had expected Rattlesnake would think that grabbing Cinnamon would be easy. After all, it certainly sounded like it in theory. But if it were that simple, Rainer would have went after her himself. He had his reasons for sending vampires to do the job for him, but he wasn't about to reveal those reasons anytime soon. Which was why he didn't bother to say anything. He did, however, narrow his eyes when Rattlesnake snatched up a glass ball of a shelf and began tossing it into the air. Obviously Rattlesnake had no respect for powerful items. Then again, this didn't surprise Rainer. Rattlesnake was a vampire, and a simple one at that, if you asked Rainer, he probably didn't even know the true meaning of the word 'magic'. Or how to spell it, for that matter.
Rattlesnake asked if he could beat Spike and Drusilla for failing, after he brought Rainer the slayer. Before answering, Rainer reached over and snatched the glass ball out of the air during one of Rattlesnake's times of throwing it into the air and before he could catch it again. "Until I have the girl, you are not to fight them. After I have her, and if you're the one the brings her to me, I could care less what you do to them. Beat them, stake them, douse them in holy water. It doesn't matter to me. As long as it isn't in my house," Rainer said, shrugging. Truthfully once he was done with the vampires, he could less what happened with them. If the one that brought him the girl first wanted to kill the one that didn't, then more power to them, for all he cared. The one that did bring him the girl. . . Rainer might consider keeping around for further uses, though.
Rainer was seconds from dismissing Rattlesnake and disappearing back into the basement when Rattlesnake suddenly told him that he'd ran into Valentine earlier. Rainer raised an eyebrow, the name rang a few bells in his head. But it wasn't until Rattlesnake explained that he was the vampire that always hung around with a vampire slayer, Xandra. Rainer let out a low growl. He hadn't met Xandra or Valentine in person, but he'd heard rumors about them. Well, more Xandra than Valentine. "I've heard of them," he said. "Jack told me that a slayer had killed a creature that I'd just resurrected. . . I bet it was Xandra that did it," he muttered, more to himself than Rattlesnake. He hadn't known that Xandra was in town, but it certainly made sense now. Well, so far Rattlesnake was proving to be worth at least a little something. Spike and Drusilla hadn't even arrived yet. Still, it took a lot more to impress someone like Rainer.
"I'll be right back," Rainer said. He turned and headed down to the basement with that. "And don't touch anything!" he snapped over his shoulder. Once he'd reached the basement, he went straight to the alter and flipped through his book until he found the spell he was looking for. This spell wasn't the one he'd been going to use earlier, but it was still a good one. He quickly gathered the ingredients he needed, and then began to do the chant the spell required. A moment later the earthquake shook the entire house, and told Rainer the spell had worked. Instead of resurrecting one old, powerful creature, this time Rainer decided to resurrect several vampires. The vampires weren't newborn, and had been pretty strong when they had been dusted. Because Rainer was the one to resurrect them, he had a nice amount of control over them, so he sent them after the slayer Xandra that Rattlesnake had informed him about. If she was going to be trouble. . . it would be best to get rid of her as quickly as possible.
Turning and leaving the basement, Rainer made his way back upstairs. "We'll see just how good a slayer she is, and if her and her pet can handle a small army," he muttered as he reached the top of the stairs. Rainer was just starting to speak to Rattlesnake, when he heard a car pull up out front. "That better be Spike and Drusilla. If it's not I'm sending Jack to kill them," he muttered.
Dru was mostly quiet for the car ride to Rainer's. Mostly thinking over what Jack had said. Hopefully by the time they got to Rainer's, Rattlesnake wouldn't be there. Dru would be perfectly happy if they could do the job without seeing his ugly face. Once they got there, Dru waited for Spike to turn the car off before she climbed out. She had been planning on leaving Shadow in the car, but he jumped out and landed on the ground beside her feet. The cat never liked to be left behind, and Dru usually just let Shadow do whatever he wanted. Dru turned and headed up the porch steps, pausing by the door and knocking on it. Just as she knocked, Shadow arched his back and hissed at the door. Dru frowned and reached down, scooping the cat up into her arms. "Don't make me leave you in the car, Shadow," Dru said, as though the cat would listen.
As she heard footsteps coming towards the door, Dru got a quick flash in her head. It wasn't a full vision, just a picture. And it was a picture she wasn't at all happy with. It was of Rattlesnake, standing beside Rainer. Dru frowned. "Rattlesnake's here," she warned Spike. No sooner than she'd said that did the door fly open and Rainer stood there.
"About damn time you two got there. What, did you get lost? Have something more important to do?" Rainer snapped.
